__________________ is a Czech-born Canadian artist, researcher, and educator whose work explores performance as it appears on the margin of theatre, cinema and visual arts through installations, immersive and participatory environments, community/site-specific work, and critical writings. With more than two decades of professional experience, Lenka has developed a number of large-scale environments for exhibitions, black box theatres and site-specific venues in Canada (Baie-Saint-Paul Museum of Contemporary Art, Le Phos-Festival de Matane, Agora UQAM in Montreal) and abroad (SASC Sao Paulo, Brazil, DMZ festival in Korea, USF Verftet, Bergen, Norway and the UNESCO - Historical Hospital Kuks in the Czech Republic) and received major research and creation grants from (FRQSC) Fonds de Recherche du Quebec-Societe et Culture, (CCA) Canada Council for the Arts, and (CALQ) Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.

Lenka straddles academia and practice and is committed to support the next generation of thinkers in technology-based work, performance and moving image. She is a lecturer in Media Arts at (NSCAD) Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, NS where she teaches film and moving image, (UVic) University of Victoria, in Victoria BC where she lectures on Arts and Technology and a postdoctoral fellow at UQAM (University of Quebec a Montreal). Presently, she is pursuing her project Conversations with Landscapes with organizations such as Artic Culture Lab in Greenland, Nes Art in Iceland and BigCi in Australia exploring the impact of climate change on local community, the environment and landscape. Lenka has Ph.D. in humanities (fine-arts) from the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Society and Culture and MFA in studio arts at Concordia University in Montreal, and a certificate in sculpture from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA. She was a research fellow and taught courses in performance and technology at ZYUD: Maastricht Academy of Technology and Design in the Netherlands, University of Maine, (US), and is the re-occurring researcher and scholar at (UVic) University of Victoria in BC.
